Great Barrier Reef Marine Park

The world's largest Marine Park is at the doorstep of Port Douglas. Port Douglas is the best location to visit the Great Barrier Reef. With its untouched and unspoilt locations, the reef is alive and buzzing with tropical reef fish, sea turtles, starfish, reef sharks and much more. Don a snorkel, mask and mask and snorkel with the many inhabitants of the Great Barrier Reef. For the keen diver, dive trips also operate daily. If you don't feel like getting your feet wet, ask us about a tour that will cater for you; from glass bottom boats, semi submersibles and underwater viewing decks, this Marine National Park has something for everyone. Snorkelling, Diving, Fishing, Kite Surfing, Jet skiing and Sailing, the options are endless.

Restaurants

Port Douglas is home to many award winning restaurants and cafes. Whether it's a fine dining experience, or fish 'n' chips on the beach, Port Douglas has something for everyone. Relax out over the wooden decking watching the boats come in with your bucket of prawns and sparkling wine, or dine amongst the Rainforest with fine food and live entertainment. Mossman Gorge

Set amongst strangler figs and crystal clear cascading water, the Daintree National Parks, Mossman Gorge is an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a refreshing swim. The Mossman Gorge is home to the famous 'swing bridge' and 5km circuit walk through untouched rainforest for the traveller feeling adventurous and energetic.

Wildlife

Tropical North Queensland, including Port Douglas, is home to many different types of birds and butterflies. Kangaroos, Koalas, Snakes, Lizards and Crocodiles are a regular part of every day life. Visit one of the many Wildlife Parks in the area for your chance to interact with all types of species. Cuddle a Koala, hold a Snake or baby Crocodile and hand feed the Kangaroos. All fantastic photo opportunities.

The Beaches

Home to several of Tropical Far North Queensland's most beautiful beaches. Stop along the way for a swim or some of the most picturesque photo opportunities you will ever see. Stingers inhabit the beaches in the warmer months of the year. Generally during October to May, beaches all don stinger nets which provide an enclosed swimming area for people wanting to enjoy the waters of the Coral Sea.

World Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest

Enjoy the best that the Daintree and Cape Tribulation area has to offer. Set amongst the worlds oldest Rainforest, take a guided tour or self drive at your own pace. The Daintree Rainforest is home to an array of native plants and trees as well as birds, butterflies, snakes, lizards and if you're lucky, you may even see one of the most rare flightless birds; the cassowary. Cross the Daintree River by ferry and wind your way through the Rainforest passing freshwater creeks and driving through the canopy’s of trees. Stop at lookouts along the way to view the spectacular scenery and even try your hand at eco-friendly tree top jungle surfing.

4 Mile Beach

With the Great Barrier Reef lining our shores, the calm waters of the 4 mile beach is the perfect family swimming spot. You will be lucky to see a wave break and the shallow depths make it perfect swimming, with breathtaking sunrise’s and sunset’s, 4 mile beach is the ideal place to spend some well deserved relaxation time. The beach is accessible from the most further end of the town and in under an hour you take a stroll and walk into town along the beach. When you reach the town end of the beach, climb the concrete staircase for spectacular views out over the Coral Sea. On a clear day it is not uncommon to see the island of Low Isles and its well known lighthouse. A popular destination for day tours to the inner reef.

Port Douglas Sunday Markets

The famous Port Douglas Sunday Markets operate every Sunday morning in Anzac Park. Opening at 8am and continuing until around 2pm, the markets showcase a variety of local arts and crafts, souvenirs, fresh fruit and veggies as well as Food and Entertainment. Locals travel from around the region to to sell their products while looking out over the pristine Coral Sea.

Cane Toad Racing

A very popular sport in the tropics. Several locations in town and close to the resort provide fun entertainment for the whole family. Select your cane toad and assist them race. Great prizes to be won and a guaranteed laugh and good time.

Breakfast and Lunch served daily
Located adjacent to Paradise Links Resort, convenient access footpath is located near the western exit.

Barrier Reef Tavern

Daily from 10am till late.
The Barrier Reef Tavern is located on Barrier Street, just a five minute walk from Paradise Links Resort .

Kai

Breakfast and Dinner served Tuesday to Saturday. As of June 1st Daily from 7.30am till Late. Kai is located at the Barrier Reef Tavern, just a 5 minute strollaway.

Cornettas SUPA IGA

Open daily from 7am till 8pm.
Located on the Captain Cook Highway, the IGA is within a 5-10 minute walk of Paradise Links Resort and is service by the local Port Douglas shuttles. Cornettas provide free delivery to the resort.

Alucco

Lunch and Dinner served daily.
Alucco is located within the Pullman Sea Temple Resort which is just a 5 minute walk from Paradise Links Resort.

Monday and Friday: 10am till 8pm, Saturday & Sunday: 11am till 8pm
